Just in case you haven't heard (or if you're a conservative, refused to hear) the Supreme Court is voting for whether or not to legalize gay marriage throughout America this June, and it's looking like gay marriage is going to finally become legal. This ruling, if in favor of gay marriage, will decide that it is in fact a constitutional right to be able to marry whoever one wants, without regard to the gender of the other person. Hillary Clinton has just recently announced that she firmly believes that the Supreme Court should make it legal throughout America as part of her campaign. Her views since 2008 have gradually become more and more supportive of gay marriage getting legalized, going from only supporting civil unions to now supporting marriage as a whole.
As had become clear in my last post, I completely support my girl Hillary Clinton for president. What didn't come up was that I'm a big supporter of marriage equality for 'non-traditional' couples. The fact that she has liberal ideals in mind, such as gay marriage, is a big part of what appeals to me about her. I'm sure that this turned many conservatives off of voting for her due to their views that marriage is only reserved for 'normal' couples, but she most likely just won the vote of just as many liberals.

Gay marriage is a no-brainer, we can both agree on that. But social issues aside, what about Hillary's ECONOMIC views make you support her for president? Social issues are only half of the equation...if her potential presidency won't bring with it economic fruitfulness, then she should not be president.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with what Nick said. If another Democratic candidate who holds the same social views as her, but has a better ability to handle economics, then I think it's obvious we should vote for that candidate. I mean Hilary is a good option, but we also need to keep in mind the dire need for a better education for our nation as well as our nation's health. That requires a lot of economical planning.
